On February and March 2015, 12 returnee and IIDP families from Kosovo received individual IDP return-support parcels consisting of food, hygiene, furniture and household appliances. The distribution of the parcels was an activity within the project „Support to sustainable return and reintegration of IDPs to Kosovo”. The project, led by ASB Serbia is funded by the European Union.
The provision of Food and Non-food returnee support parcels to the returnee and IIDP families is very important. It is crucial due to the fact that it provides immediate support upon return and supports the sustainability of the families in order for them to remain in their communities (upon return). The parcels are standardised in accordance to UNHCR requirements and are calculated on the basis of a six month period per family member. All items are being purchased in Serbia and transported to the communities of returnees.
