Draganja Trninić from the village of Lovča, municipality of Donji Kukuruzari is one of 255 elderly beneficiaries who receives home care services within the project with focus on provision of social services to the elderly in the Sisak-Moslavina County, carried out by the local NGO 'Novi Svijet' and ASB in Croatia since July 2007.

17 AUGUST 2010 - GERMAN GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TO FUND EMERGENCY REPAIR OF 18 HOUSES FOR ROMA/ASHKALI/EGYPTIAN FAMILIES IN KOSOVO

By reconstructing their houses, ASB SEE will improve current living conditions of 18 Roma/Ashkali/Egyptian (RAE) families in the Municipalities of Prizren, Obilić and Kosovo Polje in Kosovo. The Office of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund for South Eastern Europe (ASB SEE) has recently received funds from the German Foreign Ministry, under the auspices of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, to carry out the emergency repair of 18 houses for Roma/Ashkali/Egyptian (RAE) families in the Municipalities of Prizren, Obilić and Kosovo Polje in Kosovo, along with related sustainability and winterisation measures. The value of this project is €290,000, of which €30,000 is being provided by ASB SEE.

4 AUGUST 2010 - OFFICIAL OPENING OF APARTMENT BUILDING IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEDVEĐA, THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

H.E. Ambassador Vincent Degert, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, cuts the ribbon to open the new ASB constructed apartment building in the Municipality of Medveđa. On 8 July 2010, H.E. Ambassador Vincent Degert, the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, presented the keys of a new ASB constructed apartment building to eight families in the Municipality of Medveđa with Mr. Vladimir Cucić, Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Milan Marković, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-government, Mr. Rasim Ljajić, Minister of Labour and Social Policy, and Mr. Elmir Bojadžić, ASB Regional Director.

26 JULY 2010 - ASB CONSTRUCTS APARTMENT BUILDING IN MUNICIPALITY OF TOPOLA, SERBIA WITH FUNDS FROM GERMAN GOVERNMENT

Within the framework of social housing in a supportive environment, ASB will construct an apartment building with 10 units in the municipality of Topla for eight refugee/IDP families and two socially vulnerable domicile families. The Office of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund in the Republic of Serbia (ASB) recently received funds from the German Federal Foreign Office under the auspices of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, to provide durable solution for eight refugee/IDP families and two socially vulnerable domicile families through the construction of an apartment building with 10 units in the Municipality of Topola, Republic of Serbia. The total value of this project amounts to €212,055 out of which €180,000 is being provided by the German Government, €22,055 by ASB and €10,000 by the municipality of Topola.
